Timothy Grass / Hay Allergy Test

This IgE antibody allergy test uses a blood sample to determine if you are allergic to Timothy grass or hay.

Timothy grass and hay is commonly used as bedding and sometimes as a digestive aid for small house pets like rabbits, and as a feed for animals like horses or cattle. Timothy hay and grass is commonly grown. If you use this hay for pets or livestock and discover you are allergic, try replacing it with other types of grasses/hay like Orchard grass or Bermuda grass. Alternatively, try wearing a dust mask and gloves when handling if you find out you are allergic to Timothy hay/grass.

At certain times of the year, many different plants release the same pollen for fertilization. People with an already existing grass or hay allergy are often triggered into an allergic reaction during this time of year. A Timothy grass pollen allergy can produce the following symptoms: 

• Itchiness
• Watery eyes
• Runny nose
• Swelling on the face

Severe cases of most allergies result in anaphylaxis, however, this is extremely uncommon with Timothy grass.
